So as the title says, my issue now is whenever I try to make a call via voice, I get the "Phonebook Download In Progress, Please Try Again Later. I can get my Samsung Galaxy S6 to pair with it ok, but I can't get my phone book contacts to download to the car. The car uses MyLink. I lost my phone book on my car day before yesterday and Verizon had no the menu and therefore can't access the 'Contact Transfer' process.

Problem is, it does not recognize or show the contacts on my phone.

Since then it's happened maybe once every 6 weeks. Each time doing a full restart of the phone resolved the problem.

Rebooting the phone fixed it for me. Reconnecting blue tooth did als. Don't know which is faster. Thanks for the comments.

I was not on the phone when existing the car. Disconnecting bluetooth on the phone and restarting bluetooth on the phone does not fix it.

I will try and hard reboot of the phone. Thanks for the suggestions. I had the same problem today. Fixed it by rebooting the phone.

This hadn't happened to me any other time before today. I have the latest firmware Called TA. They had me do software reboot similar to pc by holding down both scroll wheels simultaneously for 10 seconds. That seems to fix the problem. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who's been getting this.

It's frequent enough that it's really annoying. Rebooting screen, and re-attaching to Bluetooth does nothing. For me, the only two solutions are to reboot the phone which takes too long or simply place a phone call from the phone, then hang up quickly, which seems to clear the problem. It has happened much less on In my experience the problem is more on the Car side, than the Phone side.

Turning off bluetooth on the phone seldom helps.

But going to the car's Bluetooth screen and disconnecting then reconnecting the phone does work much more often. It used to take a full center screen restart but that hasn't been necessary recently.

Same exact thing happens to me and has been for several months and is much more frequent than some of these posts. The problem is that the ghost call shows up on my dashboard preventing me from seeing valuable information. Additionally, the music is paused during this ghost call.

Turning off the Bluetooth or going into airplane mode will temporarily suspend the ghost call but cycling the Bluetooth or airplane mode does not work because it goes to call reappears as soon as the phone reconnects to the car.

So was the phone not paired to begin with, or is it that you never received the permission prompt asking if it was ok to sync contacts? The Galaxy Nexus paired with the Malibu. For whatever reason, during the pairing, the popup window never came up on the phone when the car wanted access to the phonebook.

Possibly the WiFi interfered with the process. Got it. Can anyone else confirm that turning off Wi-Fi on a Samsung Galaxy allows the phone to sync up contacts?

Having the same issue with my Samsung Galaxy S4. I have a Impala. Contacts synced with my previous phone Samsung Stratosphere, but they will not sync with my S4. I deleted my phone from My Link and re-paired and have paired without Wi-Fi and this did not solve the problem. The pop-up window never comes up asking if I want to access the phone book.

No one seems to know how to resolve this and I am getting very frustrated. Has been going on since Sept. Contacts only show get synchronized when a phone number is present, even if only navigation is requested.

Also, after selecting a name using the alphabet indes on the left side of the mylink screen, and finding the contact, when scrolling to get a better view the desired name some that had previously displayed, including the one requested, disappeared. There seem to be errors both in the synching and the scrolling routines in mylink for contacts since the contacts initially appear if they have a phone number but later can disappear during scrolling. I just downloadd an S4 and am having the same issues.

However, if someone on my contacts list phoned me, it would display the name as it appeared in my contacts list. Anyway, I gave up. I had high hopes for my new S4 not having any problems, but exactly the same thing is happening. I even tried turning off the Wifi, unpairing the phone, powering down the phone, shutting off the vehicle and then restarting both the vehicle and the phone and re-pairing.

I know that mine is a with color touch… but mine does the opposite of what you did though. No problem. After I hung up, I tried calling using a name from my contacts list.
